Miyu’s dedication to improving her craft is evident even during dance classes, where she tirelessly repeats each step until it’s perfect. Her enthusiasm to learn is illustrated by her willingness to seek guidance from her classmates, displaying her humility and determination to grow as a dancer. But her strongest supporters are her parents. They take her to dance classes, they try to understand the fundamentals and culture of dance, discussing it, although they are not dancing themselves. She learns freestyle "choreography" by learning some basic style choreography and then altering it more and more. So she memorized basic movements and choose intuitively by her musicality, opponents and battle situations what fits best and rattling off her practiced basic movement sequence in battles. So she can even recognize some basic style combos of her opponents or her class mates, she has been watched and studied before, and are executing them in synchronization from the border of the jam with her opponents or crew mates. The more battles she attends and is watching, the more her movement vocabulary extends she can add to her own foundation. She got the power for the battles by constantly practicing rounds. She recommends start slowly and get more hungry for going more full out next round. That gave her strength and endurance. Her priorities on a battle are: First having fun, second musicality, third moves and fourth judges expressions. When the judges have a poker face, she is really worried.

Freestyle is her favoured genre - she won an award in that category during her first competition: "It's more free than choreography too so it's not so much thinking exactly, it's just like freedom." Miyu's father Haris Pranoto said dance classes keep his daughter in top form as she competes across Indonesia almost every month, from Jakarta to Bali to South Sumatra. "Miyu has trained more for dance battles actually. So mentally, she has the courage for a dance battle." When she is not dancing, Miyu divides her time between school and taking piano and voice lessons.
