Kida is the second youngest of seven siblings and started dancing since his step one. He learned dancing from his elder brother Shaheem Sanchez Burns, who is a deaf dancer and danced by feeling the virbration of the sound. His sister Savannah Burns is a dancer too. Leon wanted to be an other creation of Shaheem, so his brother had huge imprint on his dance style and Kida appreciates that. When he was four years old he started competing in dance battles. When he was six his mother pushed him to dance by being a part of a parade.

In 2012, he appeared in an episode of the Fox short-lived drama series Touch, starring Kiefer Sutherland.

In 2020, kida competed with [[Bailey Sok]] as Bailey & Kida and got 3rd in Divisional Junior Final. They formed a duet just for the show. After a short interview the entered the audition hall and were supprised when they were auditioning directly in front of Jennifer Lopez, Derek Hough and Ne-Yo in this session, like all other participants, and faced the new scoreless system for the first two rounds with a possible callbacks. All three judges agreed there have huge potential and let them pass. In the duels they impressed with an isolated performance, which made the majority of the judges to vote for them instead of James & Harris, who are excellent contemporary dancers. And in the semi finals they got eliminated by [https://kiddancers.miraheze.org/wiki/Category:MDC3_Dancers MDC3], who won later the show and $1,000,000 USD and Oxygen with 93 points average according classic scoring system. However, Bailey & kida were the most popular act on the show and the laudation of the judges, including by Steven "Twitch" Boss, had famed their talent.
