Tessa started dancing when she was only three, but she didn't start dancing competitively until she was six. Then in 2012, Tessa competed as a contestant on the first season of Abby's Ultimate Dance Competition where she placed 12th. Three years later, she appeared as a guest dancer on Dance Moms where she danced for the Candy Apples Dance Center. She also danced for Jeanette Cota's Broadway Dance Company.
